What is Race? What is Slavery? and What is United?

Comment For Your Thoughts
July 22nd 2013

What is race?

Go look in a Dictionary and you will see many definitions, but you will not see that it all breaks down to one meaning, some one is something that you are not, or, trying to be better than some one else, trying to be the richest, or trying to be number one.

Can you deny that you don’t want the most money, that you don’t want to be numero uno, the top dog.

Look around you, you have one group that think they are the supreme and can do any thing they want, and in the mean time they are giving people who will stand up for this Country and fight for it to keep it free, then you have ones that will do any thing to cause trouble, these are cowards, they hide behind masks and ware hoodies to hide their faces, they destroy property, they don’t care who owns it, just as long as they can destroy some thing, or steal what ever they can get their hands on.

I am not talking about any one race, all it takes is one, and the rest follow, I can say one thing Blacks do stand up for their rights, but they go to far, however, the rest of the people could care less what happens to this Country. Look at the laws that have been passed and what have they done, nothing, why because they believe what the news media says, they don’t listen to all sides, they take it as the  gospel truth, the news media only want’s to sell papers not the truth.

What is Slavery?

Slavery is what all working class people are today, they are slaves to the rich, same as in the past, slave owners were the rich and backed by Government, and the same stands today, so no matter who you are today, if you are not corporate execs, at the top, then you are a slave and have to abide by their rules, no matter what color you are. You can say that you don’t work and are getting aid from the Government, well then, you are a slave of the Government, if you are not the top dogs then you are a slave.

What is United?

It sure not this Country today, this Country has become a nation of the divided, where would this Country be today if early settlers had not fought to be free from Dictators, well look around you, you have let this Country slowly move back to that time when we had the wars here, is this what people want today is to go back to where one person rules this Country, if not you are doing a very good job of going back in time.

This Country can not call it a UNITED States, it is a long way from it today, today people have become more divided now then they were in the past, and as long as we have people trying to keep every one fighting each other, we will never become UNITED and be able to ward off a Dictator.

Come on people let stop fighting each other, let protest against these people who are keeping this Country from Uniting, causing hate among people, if we want to form a better union we have to join arm and arm and fight unjust taxing, Discrimination, and a Dictating Government before we start fighting against our selves, it is its people who make a Country great, not the Government, people are the Government, not the other way around, and today the Government is the problems of every thing going wrong.

Any one other than a black Shoots or hurts a Black, you have a riot and destruction, and not all of them in these riots are black, but that is what they want you to believe, but turn every thing around, so what’s the big deal, there no discrimination when the reverse happens.

========================================================================

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.
971659_10201821470364958_692813271_nYou know Ben Stein has a good comment about this Country of today: My confession: I don’t like getting pushed around for being a  Jew, and I don’t think Christians like getting pushed around for  being Christians….

I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period.

I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can’t find it in the Constitution and I don’t like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I  can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren’t allowed to worship God  as we understand Him?

I guess that’s a sign that I’m getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are  wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little  different: This is not intended to be a joke; it’s not  funny, it’s intended to get you thinking.

In light of recent events – terrorists attacks, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O’Hare (she  was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn’t want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.

Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school.

The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbour as yourself.  And we said  OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn’t spank our  children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr.  Spock’s son committed suicide).  We said an expert should know what he’s talking about.  And we said okay.

Now we’re asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don’t know right from wrong, and why it  doesn’t bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard  enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with, ‘WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.’

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world’s going to  hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.

Funny how you can send  ‘jokes’ through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think  twice about sharing.

Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?

Funny how when you forward  this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you’re not sure what they believe, or what they will  think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit.

If not, then just discard it. No one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don’t sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

My Best Regards, Honestly and Respectfully,

Let’s Give a BIG Hand to California Again!

Comment for Bigots
July 11th 2013

Have you ever noticed that all laws of this Country come out of California, and from the Democrats, examples (cars, power, cigarettes, farming), and that you, the American Citizen have to abide by, and after they got these laws passed in California, they moved to other states and wanted them to follow these same laws every where they went, if these laws were so great than why did they move out of that great state, I know I know, after they were passed, just like every thing else in California, they could no longer afford to live there, and now they are doing the same thing to all the States where they are moving to.

If you want to live with California Laws and Taxes, MOVE back, and leave the other states alone and stop Bankrupting them with your greed and Laws.

It Only Took About 20 Years for the U.S. to Turn Smokers into Pariahs

Emily Badger, The Atlantic Cities      Health
07-10-2013

The public smoking ban is a relatively recent invention. The first outdoor ban identified by the American Nonsmokers’ Rights Foundation was put in place in 1975 in Yolo County, Calif., which outlawed smoking in all public parks. The idea didn’t exactly take off. Another two decades would go by before the policy — in public parks, on beaches, in children’s playgrounds — would spread around California and then throughout the U.S., rapidly transforming a once-acceptable social norm into something hazardous to your kids, your lungs and the environment.

RELATED: It’s Time to Lay Off the Morning Cigarette

In the late ’90s, communities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island created the first beach smoking bans. By 2006, seven more states had them as well. By 2011, 23 states did. The rise of the park smoking ban has been even more dramatic: By June of 2011, municipalities in all 50 states had them.

RELATED: A Few New Yorkers Will Go to Great Lengths to Keep Smoking

But despite this impressive trajectory – and the abrupt shift in public perception that has accompanied it – public-health researchers argue that there’s actually not a lot of scientific evidence backing up popular justifications for smoking bans. In the July issue of the journal Health Affairs, Columbia University’s Ronald Bayer and Kathleen E. Bachynski pick apart three of the most common arguments: Public bans reduce second-hand smoke that endangers non-smokers. They reduce cigarette-butt litter that’s toxic to the environment. And they take cigarettes out of the public view of impressionable children.

RELATED: Gallup: Americans Now Favor Banning Smoking From All Public Places

In reality, smoking bans probably do more to protect smokers themselves than the people around them. But it sounds less paternalistic to implement these policies in the name of shielding children. The short history of how these alternate arguments have become conventional wisdom reveals, Bayer and Bachynski write, “the complex relationships among scientific evidence, real-world health risks, and politics in the public policy process of denormalization.”

RELATED: Smoking Offers at Least One Health Benefit

In their own analysis of a national database maintained by the American Nonsmokers’ Rights Foundation, Bayer and Bachynski count 843 park bans and 150 beach bans imposed in the U.S. between 1993-2011. The largest share came from California, then Minnesota and New Jersey.

The scientific community, meanwhile, either hasn’t kept pace with research on the effects of such bans, or hasn’t found conclusive evidence of connections between second-hand smoke and some health impacts, like breast cancer. In fact, the American Lung Association, the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society have all shied away from supporting such bans, in favor of public-health policies they believe would be more effective, like higher cigarette taxes, or tighter restrictions of tobacco ad campaigns.

In an interview with the researchers, one official with the American Lung Association put it this way: “I don’t think we should be making claims that are not supported by the data. If you try to tie it [banning smoking on beaches or in parks] to a health outcome, that’s where you get in trouble.”

The litter argument is more compelling, although it stretches farther than science has gone with the notion that cigarette butts do real damage to ecosystems (or to animals and children thought to frequently ingest them). As for the societal influence of smokers on children – research says they primarily take their cues from their parents, not strangers they see on the beach.

Of course, there’s a strong if politically unpalatable argument for enacting these policies: Over time, smoking bans have helped turn cigarette butts into something disgusting, and smokers themselves into pariahs. Smoking bans help change smoking norms. And polls suggest that the shift in public opinion has been swift. Gallup began asking people in 2001 if they supported making smoking illegal in public spaces. Then, only 39 percent of people did. As of 2011, for the first time, a majority did, at 59 percent.

“Denormalization,” Bayer and Bachynski write, is the sanitized term for policies that actively seek to stigmatize smoking. Depending on your view of the lengths we should go to cut down on the known health consequences of tobacco, you may be OK with this. But Bayer and Bachynski warn that it’s a “perilous strategy” to mask that goal with weak arguments about protecting the children from bad influence, or their parents from second-hand smoke.

What Does it Take for these Government Nitwits To Learn it has to STOP NOW

Comment For Nitwits
02-14-2013

If our Government keep going the way they are I am going dunce-cap-hatto start a dunce award scale, 1 to 5, and the article coming up I give this one a  FIVE 5

When are these nitwits going to under stand that they are the problems in this Country, just because people pay taxes that they are end less and can not sustain continual spending without consequences. Pay Raises and taxes need to stop now or we will be back into a Depression you will never get out of no matter what you do, and this Obama Administration has this Country headed in that direction on a fast track by telling you what to do, and if you have not noticed you better look harder, because you are blind.

Just look at what they are doing to this Country, they are putting people on the street with no place to go but an early grave, not all the people can not continue to pay for the people who can not live with what they have, BUT NO, they must have Fancy Streets, Fancy Buildings, these are the people who have to have something better than every one else, better Pay, better Benefits, and the Fancies Homes and Cars, well this all ends up costing every one else money they can not afford to continually pay.

Who said that College Education would teach you to be smarter than a High School Education, well who ever said it did not learn any thing in College, look at all these Politicians that brag about going to College and having a good education have come out being the Dummies people on earth, they don’t know the differences from a Penny to a Dollar, just like workers are a dime a dozen, but it is the knowledge of the job not the Education, you can have all the education in the world, but if you do not have the knowledge you know nothing, and our Government shows that.

Should You Renounce Your Citizenship?

By Caroline Kim | Yahoo! Finance
Wed, Feb 13, 2013

Would you renounce your U.S. citizenship if it meant you’d be sending less of your hard-earned dollars to Uncle Sam?

As Americans face higher taxes and stricter enforcement, a growing number of them are, indeed, deciding to turn in their US passports. As of 2013, 77% of Americans will pay higher federal tax rates because the cuts in Social Security payroll taxes expired when Congress passed its tax package on New Year’s Day.

But the wealthiest households face the highest tax increases. From 2009 to 2011, the number of expatriates, or those who renounced their U.S. citizenship, doubled to 1,781.

Nigel Green, CEO of deVere Group, which provides financial services for expatriates, said that since the start of this year, 48% more of his clients in January than in a typical month inquired about moving funds abroad and the possible tax implications of changing citizenship.

The income tax rate rose this year to 39.6% from 35% for individuals earning more than $400,000 a year and married couples earning more than $450,000.

The Tax Policy Center estimated that those who earn more than $1 million would pay an average of  $170,341 more in taxes.

Green said there’s a tipping point for most people with regard to tax issues affecting their choice of location and citizenship. “If there’s only 10% tax [on income], no one would be leaving. But if there’s 90%, then most people would leave,” he said.

Federal taxes aren’t the only issue, though. Increases in state income tax rates factor into these decisions as well. Recently, California enacted Proposition 30, which raised state income tax rates to 10.3% from 9.3% for individuals making at least $250,000 and 13.3% from 10.3% for those earning at least $1 million. Golfer Phil Mickelson publicly voiced his concern over the tax increases and threatened to leave California because of the higher rates.

Famous Faces
In the first three quarters of 2012, more than 1,100 people left the United States, according to the Federal Register, which tracks Americans who renounce their citizenship. (The Federal Register doesn’t make note of why these people give up their citizenships; we can only guess there are financial considerations in many situations.) Among them, one of the most high-profile examples was Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, who filed to relinquish his U.S. citizenship in September 2011; Facebook had its initial public offering in May 2012. Saverin, a Brazil native, had already been living in Singapore for three years after emigrating to the U.S. in 1998. He could reportedly save as much as $100 million in taxes because Singapore does not tax capital gains.

Saverin isn’t the only famous renunciation. Singer and socialite Denise Rich also gave up her citizenship last year under her maiden name, Denise Eisenberg. She is well-known as the ex-wife of former international fugitive Marc Rich, a commodities trader who was indicted on 50 counts of wire fraud, tax evasion, racketeering and other charges. But on his last day in office in 2001, former president Bill Clinton pardoned Rich. Reports claimed that Eisenberg gave up her citizenship to be closer to her long-time partner, an Austrian citizen. Austria also has tax benefits for nationals who live abroad for more than half the year.

Chinese kung fu star and actor Jet Li held American and Chinese citizenships, but dropped both in 2009 in order to be a citizen in Singapore. (Singapore prohibits dual citizenship.) In interviews Li indicated that he chose Singapore because it was free from paparazzi and provided language opportunities for his children.

Most recently, actor Gerard Depardieu made headlines for renouncing his French citizenship to become a Russian citizen in order to avoid France’s proposed 75% tax on earned income above $1.4 million. Russia has a flat 13% tax rate.

Ready to Tear Up Your Passport?
According to a 2012 study published by the Research Institute of Industrial Economics that examined the mobility of billionaires over the past two decades, “70% [of those billionaires] have migrated from higher to lower capital gains tax country … One-third of the billionaires that moved went to small countries defined as ‘tax havens,’” including Switzerland, Bahamas and Singapore.

If you want to join the pack, the process to renounce your citizenship isn’t very difficult.

The U.S. Department of State says that in order to do so, one must “appear in person before a U.S. consular or diplomatic officer, in a foreign country (typically at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate); and sign an oath of renunciation.”

But before you take the plunge, be aware that if you forego your U.S. citizenship, there’s no turning back. The U.S. government won’t reinstate it if you change your mind later — so think it over carefully.

In 1965, movie star Elizabeth Taylor attempted to expatriate to keep her European income from being subject to American tax law. But she did not get approval from the State Department because she refused to disavow “all allegiance to the United States of America.”

And you might be saving money in the long run, but you still have to pay an “exit” tax, according to the Heroes Earnings Assistance and Relief Tax Act passed in 2008. This applies to those whose net worth is $2 million or more, or whose annual income tax average for the past five years is $145,000 or more (as of 2008 and adjusted annually for inflation each year). One exception applies to people who were born with dual citizenships. For the exit tax, a 15% tax applies to capital gains above $651,000, and tax on other assets like a retirement account, would be at the normal income rate up to 39.6%. These assets are taxed as if the individual were selling or withdrawing their monetary funds from the accounts on the last day of their American citizenship.

Already Living Abroad?

So is giving up your rights and privileges as a U.S. citizen worth it? If you live and conduct business mostly in the U.S., it may not be the best decision. Renouncing your citizenship isn’t just about taxes— it also means no more protection from the U.S. government; possible issues with travel visas, including traveling and staying in the U.S. for long periods of time.

But it may be worth it if you already live in a foreign country. The U.S. is one of the few nations that taxes its citizens regardless of where you live in the world. As long as you remain a U.S. citizen, you will be taxed on your income even if you’re living abroad. But if you aren’t a citizen and live in a foreign country, you don’t need to pay any income tax.

“[Renunciation] seems to be more pronounced with Americans, and that’s more with Americans currently living abroad,” Green said. “It’s easier if you’ve already left the country. There are less factors involved [in changing citizenships].”

In the case of Saverin, he was already living in Singapore and did not have deep ties to the U.S. because he hadn’t been here very long. In his case, the financial benefits were clear: he would’ve paid a 35% federal tax rate in the U.S. in addition to 15% on capital gains, while in Singapore his tax rate would be  20% at most and no capital gains tax.

So how would your tax burden stack up? If you earn $1 million a year, that’s almost $396,000 you’re keeping in your pocket (based on the top 39.6% income tax rate) if you said goodbye to the U.S. and took up residency in a place like Monaco, which doesn’t tax income at all. If you were to earn the median household income of $50,054, according to the Census Bureau, then you’d be saving $12,500 (based on a 25% federal tax bracket).

World Wide Killings

Who is Really at Fault
12-18-2012

K praying-asking-god_svg_thumbMy deepest feelings go out to all the Families who have lost Loved one from War, Terrorist with a Gun, and some with Disabilities.

I put the blame on the Parents who don’t care what their kids are doing, because they are spending most of their time going to Parties, or hanging around the Local Pub Drinking and Smoking POT, but as far as teaching their kids right or wrong, they don’t have time, most of the time they don’t even know where they are, but they are not all the blame, the Government has their hand in the problem as well.

Who is to blame, it is not the gun, it is people who will do any thing to get their names in the News, but when it comes to doing something about it, I DON’T WANT TO GET INVOLVED, well you better look again, you are involved, the day you took it upon your self to get your name in the news promoting some thing that you don’t know what the outcome can bring, well that is what is happening around the world, but you will sit down and  promote and watch Violent Movies, Play Violent video games, and TV Cop Shows that promote Police Brutality, but these are the people who are trying to ban firearms, sex education, and religion in schools, but they will promote Alcoholic and Marijuana and what ever else they can do to get their name in the News, how do we know if they are not in cahoots to help disarm all Legal law-abiding Citizens who want to protect themselves.

Look a round you look what is happening around the World, people who don’t have any way to protect themselves are getting Massacred (a general slaughter, as of persons: the massacre of millions during the war that Politicians start.) is this what you want here in the United States, just because it is not here now does not mean it won’t be in the future, is this what  you want to leave your kids hiding in caves because they can not defend themselves.

$8.25 Man and A $8.75 Million CEO Same Company

Comment:  Right To Work What the differences From a Union
12-13-2012

People talk about Poor wages, they complain about no health insurance,70663-Royalty-Free-RF-Clipart-Illustration-Of-A-Lazy-Boss-Smoking-A-Cigar-And-Relaxing-With-His-Feet-On-His-Desk but yet CEO’s say they can’t afford to give their Employees a Pay raise and Insurance, BUT YET they can give them selves pay raises and Health insurance along with the Board of Directors and top Executives Top Dollar and yearly raises, and the Government does nothing about it like they did back in the Sixties where they set Workers pay at Three Percent a year, that is about when the spread between WORKERS and CEO’s started and Insurance started to disappear.

Conflict Of Office

Conflict Of Office

Now how about the Unions Pay packages and Insurance (not the Members, but the Unions), and what have they done to help get equal pay as all CEO,s nothing, but they sure hobnob with them, play golf, go to lunch with them, you can go on and on, just like Boeing s, can not give pay raises but they sure give them selves one, and this is the same as all Companies, AND WHAT have some Unions done for you other than take away your pay raise to pay your increase in DUES.

I am not against some Unions because I am a Union member and treated good, but I have been in other Unions and got nothing but pay dews and watch them drive around in fancy cars and go to high-end restaurants to eat, and see them run around in Five Hundred Dollar Suits or more, now is that protecting you the worker.

What is Obama doing about this, taking his $8.25 an hour job and giving it to some one else (spreading the wealth).

McDonald’s $8.25 Man and $8.75 Million CEO Shows Pay Gap

Bloomberg
By Leslie Patton | Bloomberg
Wed, Dec 12, 2012

Tyree Johnson scrubs himself with a bar of soap in a McDonald’s (MCD) bathroom and puts on fresh deodorant. He stashes his toiletries in a Kenneth Cole bag, a gift from his mother who works the counter at Macy’s, and hops on an El train. His destination: another McDonald’s.

Johnson isn’t one of Chicago’s many homeless people who seek shelter in fast-food joints. He’s a McDonald’s employee, at both stores — one in the Loop, the other about a mile away in the shadow of Holy Name Cathedral.

He needs the makeshift baths because hygiene and appearance are part of his annual compensation reviews. Even with frequent scrubbings, he said before a recent shift, it’s hard to remove the essence of the greasy food he works around.

“I hate when my boss tells me she won’t give me a raise because she can smell me,” he said.

Johnson, 44, needs the two paychecks to pay rent for his apartment at a single-room occupancy hotel on the city’s north side. While he’s worked at McDonald’s stores for two decades, he still doesn’t get 40 hours a week and makes $8.25 an hour, minimum wage in Illinois.

This is life in one of America’s premier growth industries. Fast-food restaurants have added positions more than twice as fast as the U.S. average during the recovery that began in June 2009. The jobs created by companies including Burger King Worldwide Inc. and Yum! Brands Inc. (YUM), which owns the Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and KFC brands, are among the lowest-paid in the U.S. — except in the C suite.

Pay Disparity

The pay gap separating fast-food workers from their chief executive officers is growing at each of those companies. The disparity has doubled at McDonald’s Corp. in the last 10 years, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. At the same time, the company helped pay for lobbying against minimum-wage increases and sought to quash the kind of unionization efforts that erupted recently on the streets of Chicago and New York.

Older workers like Johnson are staffing fast-food grills and fryers more often, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey. In 2010, 16- to 19-year-olds made up 17 percent of food preparation and serving workers, down from almost a quarter in 2000, as older, underemployed Americans took those jobs.

“The sheer number of adults in the industry has just exploded” because fast-food restaurants “not only survived, but thrived during the economic recession,” said Saru Jayaraman, director of the Food Labor Research Center at the University of California at Berkeley.

Million Hours

Jim Skinner, President and CEO of McDonald’s (Denis Sinyakoov/Reuters/Corbis)Johnson would need about a million hours of work — or more than a century on the clock — to earn the $8.75 million that McDonald’s, based in the Chicago suburb of Oak Brook, paid then- CEO Jim Skinner last year. Johnson’s work flipping burgers and hoisting boxes of french fries, like millions of other jobs in low-wage industries, helps explain why income inequality grew after the 2007-2009 recession ended.

The recovery from the last downturn has been the most uneven in recent history. The 1.2 million households whose incomes put them in the top 1 percent of the U.S. saw their earnings increase 5.5 percent last year, according to census estimates. Earnings fell 1.7 percent for the 97 million households in the bottom 80 percent — those who made less than $101,583.

The widening chasm is most pronounced in the restaurant and retail businesses. The total number of people employed in the U.S. at Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and McDonald’s and Yum Brands restaurants exceeds the entire 2.7 million population of Chicago. Net income at those three companies has jumped by at least 22 percent from four years ago.

Shareholders Benefit

Shareholders, not employees, have reaped the rewards. McDonald’s, for example, spent $6 billion on share repurchases and dividends last year, the equivalent of $14,286 per restaurant worker employed by the company. At the same time, restaurant companies have formed an industrywide effort to freeze the minimum wage, whose purchasing power is 20 percent less than in 1968, according to the Economic Policy Institute, a think tank that advocates for low- and middle-income workers.

Johnson begins most days the same way: picking cigarette butts out of the shower drain of a shared bathroom, using a tissue so he doesn’t touch them. While there’s a “No Smoking” sign posted inside the hotel where he lives, that doesn’t stop the other occupants who share the showers, sinks and toilets.

His rent at the hotel in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood is $320 a month. Johnson usually can’t cover it all at once, so he’s allowed to pay $160 every two weeks, or even $80 a week, for his first-floor room. He’s late on November rent and owes about $100 — some of it a late-payment fee, he said. Since falling behind, he’s put off buying a Dell laptop for $99 that he found online.

‘Forget Computer’

“Forget about that computer,” Johnson said. For now, he’ll keep going to a local Apple store when he wants to update his Facebook page in his efforts to find someone nice to date and to stay in touch with his father.

A pay stub of Johnson’s shows that he earned $8,518.80 through Sept. 9 this year at the store that gives him most of his hours. He was able to work only 52 hours during that two- week pay period because the restaurant was being remodeled, he said. A statement of earnings from his other McDonald’s job shows that he worked fewer than 12 hours over two weeks, earning $95.45 before taxes.

Even with the U.S unemployment rate dropping last month to 7.7 percent, minimum-wage earners have less power to demand higher pay because so many adults are willing to take low-wage positions, said Nelson Lichtenstein, director of the Center for the Study of Work, Labor and Democracy at the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Dictators are now taking away U.S. freedoms For Money

Comment For Nay Sayers saying it is not Happening

How one woman giving away free water bottles turned into a viral, political protest

Dana Crow-Smith first got into trouble with Arizona police when she stepped onto public property while handing out free bottles of water during a July arts event. But the Phoenix resident now says she was expressing her Christian faith and has enlisted the help of at least one national organization that is threatening to sue the city.

Police issued Crow-Smith a warning, saying she needed a vendor’s permit after handing out the water during a First Friday Art Walk on July 6. A Phoenix city memo states that Crow-Smith violated an ordinance requiring permits for “vending, selling, serving, displaying, offering for sale or giving away goods, wares, or merchandise or food from either a mobile vending unit or a mobile food vending unit.”

“I don’t even think it’s about religious beliefs, I think anybody should be able to give away water, on the sidewalk to anybody. It’s hot, and it’s a nice thing to do,” Crow-Smith said in an August interview with a local ABC affiliate.

The Arizona Republic reports that an online protest campaign has gained steam since the incident was first reported.

A conservative group called We Like Small Government first posted about Crow-Smith on its Facebook page, which generated several thousand likes and was subsequently shared across the conservative blogosphere.

And now, Virginia-based Christian-rights organization The Rutherford Institute has formally taken up her cause, threatening to sue the city if Phoenix officials do not apologize to Crow-Smith.

In a letter to Phoenix city officials, Rutherford attorney Doug Drury says the ordinance does not apply to Crow-Smith, since she was giving away the water bottles for free. “Ms. Crow-Smith’s conduct was a manifestation of her sincerely held religious beliefs,” the letter adds.

However, Phoenix officials say they are not likely to change their position, noting they only gave Crow-Smith a warning rather than a fine.

Comment By Bob L.

Famous last word, how many times have you heard that in your life time when the Government tells you that no one can get your Personal Information, well lets see, Identity Theft (The most common forms of identity theft occur when someone obtains another person’s social security number, driver’s license number, date of birth) sound familiar, and now VOTER FRAUD, and Oh some one broke in to Government files, and on and on, and now Washington State wants to open up your personal information On Line, where is this Education that they are always talking about where the people who go to College have a better Education then the average person, it is sounding like stupid leading stupid in this Country today, and I think it all starts with having a College Education.

What is one of the things that they tell you not to do, is don’t put your personal Information online out there for every one to see, because of Identity Theft, how much more can Government be stupid.

This Country today is getting taken over by nothing but Special Interest Groups, irresponsible Nincompoops (a stupid person; fool; idiot ) and Air-Heads (a scatterbrained, stupid, or simple-minded person) who doesn’t like any thing that this Country stands for and wants every thing changed to their way of thinking.

It is time to stand up to these people before it is too late and they have control, and the place to start is with this Administration, Local and Federal, this also goes for judges who think these laws are their laws to with however they want to do with as they want, and as the laws go today they are eating away at the US Constitution, it is just like the laws that are on the books now, they don’t want to enforce existing laws, they want new laws that these nincompoops won’t fight to changes. I am not saying that this is not happening, I am saying that Obama will do any thing to get Votes to get Reelected, and this sounds of, get out of my way, I am going to get Reelected one way or another, and I will do what ever it takes, and in the process, lets see how many laws he will break against the Constitution.

And an other thing, this is all hear say until it clears the court of ALL Legal American Citizen, not the PRESIDENTS Court and his CZARS.

Why are they Illegals and not American Citizens, check the Federal books and you will see how much it cost to become a Legal Citizen, they would rather let them in Illegally to divide the Country, and this is what is happening now, just look around you, and what do you see.
